PROBLEM SPECIES

Avian Environmental Consultants have over 35 years experience providing environmentally friendly avian control for species such as pigeons, gulls, starlings etc. which often cause an environmental hazard at various sites and locations by using a combination of falconry, trapping and proofing.

The effect on the local avian pest population is often immediate, with the long term success up kept throughout the maintenance.  Our experience in this method of utilising trained birds of prey means that we have a highly specialised knowledge of training Hawks and Falcons, making Avian Environmental the ideal environmentally friendly option of bird control. We pride ourselves on our environmental values and conscientious approach, whilst always ensuring value for money, and we are fully compliant with the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981.

Feral Pigeons (Columba Livia)

Feral Pigeons are the number one urban pest, creating a mess and causing damage wherever they roost, creating the need for pigeon control. Easily identifiable with a blue-grey plumage and around 33cm in length, feral pigeons are descendants of rock doves - which were originally cliff-dwelling birds - and they have adapted well to living alongside humans and are a common sight in the urban environment, causing manifold problems with health, safety and maintenance.  Further information about feral pigeons is available here.

Gulls (Larus Argentatus)

Gulls have become well adapted to urban environments inland, as well as on our coastlines, often scavenging waste as a food source and their changing behaviour has resulted in increasing amounts of gulls nesting in built-up areas from ledges and chimneys to roofs and balconies. Gulls can create problems when nesting on residential and business premises, creating a great deal of noise due to their territorial nature which can result in aggressive behaviour towards humans - particularly during the breeding season. Further information about gulls is available here.
